Dear Wendy and Stu, I returned from London to hear the great news about your 60th birthday party. You can't be 60 because (Stuart)as one of my former graduate students at Carnegie-Mellon that makes me a very old man! You both look much younger, so it must be designer genes, healthy diets, much exercise or just plain good old fashion luck. Congratulations and don't forget to celebrate again on January 11, 2009!

Wendy and Stu -
I hope you have a great, great birthday celebration!! Congratulations on all the many accomplishments you both have made during the years. Stu, one of your best was marrying my sister!!!
Stu - as always, you're the best!! I love you and thank God every day we were so blessed to have you added to our family!

My remembrances of the "twins" are platinum blurs. They seemed to be in perpetual motion all the time; playing tennis, hockey, even walking down a hall-always moving. Apparently when they did stop it was to prove how smart they were! "Awards" nights were spent listening the the name Lazarus over and over again and watching the hardware pile up around them. Unceasing energy makes remarkable results and you, both, are proof of that. Fran and Chuck must be so proud!

I had invited your parents and grandmother for dinner the evening of January 11 and I was a nervous wreck, thinking about the quality of my cooking compared to Gertrude's meals, what with Ollie and all that. Bur then, you decided to be born and dinner was out and Stert and Gwendolyn were in. I have treasured all three of you for all these years... and I wanted to write a more clever comment but only love kept coming out of my fingers.

Stuart! And Wendy!
What a wonderful idea to have this for your birthday! Does this mean that soon you'll start to post a list of birthday gifts you want? A registry of sorts? Stuart, I'll sign up to buy you new running socks....
Here's an idea - 60 miles for your 60th birthday? WE CAN DO IT! Then we'll eat 60 cupcakes and 60 pizza's and 60 sausages from your favorite place....

The Twins--The Puzzle
So, if you had kept up with the early years of Wendy and Stuart, this will be easy. If you did not keep up with those years, this will be more difficult, but quite interesting.
Peggy has been a trailblazer on these puzzles, having wresteled them to the ground quite efficiently, wordsmith that she is.
Those in need of direction and assistance on the first puzzle, need only consult Peg for guidance. Sometimes, though, she is stingy with answers. Her typical excuse is that she has not yet gotten to the puzzle--the first one that is Do not believe her!!!!!!
The link blow will take you to the second puzzle and more fun. Go for it; try hard, then contact Peg.

Yo, Twins!
Isn't your birthday in JANUARY!?! Is this the pre-party, or what? I will make sure Wede leaves some love here, and we will leave more and more until finally you're sixty and I'm still a spring chicken - like 59.

Really, I've been disparaged by my kid and marginalized by my siblings -- all they did for my birthday were some no-tech sweats with a crypto-equation from a cave wall in ....southern Ohio probably. I am turning in that outfit for sure. Party on bloggo's. You may be mustard and custard but I am the floating island. Peg

60 huh??! Wow! And Mom - you're ALWAYS going to be older than Stu, which means you'll be 60 (i.e. old) before he will! :)
All joking aside, I'm looking forward to celebrating with both of you!

Ola Auntie W & Uncle Stu. Well, I have to say that you are both more technologically advanced than my madre--that's for sure. Though Peggy has recently conquered the art of uploading pictures to ofoto, a blogger she is not:) Love the blog and talk to you both soon. Happy (early) b-day. -Nephew J

I agree with Laura. 60. Wow. And you're making a blog. Do you have any idea how impressive that is? Steve Jobs has nothing on you.

BUT ISN'T IT ABOUT HOW YOU AGE?
I may be older --and have always been more mature than Stu-- but have a look at the grown up kids photo and see where the "grey"is coming from.
Speaking of age, Stu and I are truly grateful that our friends span all ages. So, whether you have trouble writing and want to dictate something to your Mom or to your daughter-- or whether you can type fine you just can't spell all that well, come join our party!

Wendy Is Still Older
Remember when being older used to be a GOOD thing! Well, Wendy is 4 minutes older than Stuart, so she hits the big 60 long before he does. But, they are celebrating it together and wonder if you would leave a comment for them on this momentous occasion.
Sure, the big day is not for a few months, but they "think" they have a lot of friends who will leave a comment here. If you are one of those people, just click "down there" where it says comment; right next to the little symbol which looks like a pencil. Every few days, we'll turn these comments into posts which will show up more easily.
If you need a bit more direction about what to do, read the column on the left.
